# 36.What is USDT?

USDT is a stable currency with the largest circulation in the field of encrypted digital currency, which is released by Tether company on multiple public chains at the rate of 1USDT = 1 USD and circulated in the encrypted digital currency market. It is usually used to measure the price settlement unit of a currency to obtain its legal currency price. Every USDT in the market theoretically corresponds to one dollar prepared by Tether company as a guarantee. And the legal currency value of almost all the encrypted digital currency is also calculated in U (USD).
